Communication Satellite In Italian Free Download: The Best Way to Learn a New Language

Eutelsat-9B is a communication satellite manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space and operated by Eutelsat Communications. The satellite was launched into the geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) in January 2016. The satellite is collocated at 9 east longitude orbital position, where the EuroBird 9A satellite was placed and has been providing services since 2007.

Headquartered in Paris, France, Eutelsat Communications is one of the leading operators of communications satellites in the world. The company provides services to a wide range of customers, including broadcasters and broadcasting associations, and pay-TV operators. It also offers services to video, data and internet service providers, enterprises and government agencies. The company currently operates about 36 satellites with coverage over Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.

Eutelsat has two main control centres, including a satellite control centre (SCC) and a communications system control centre (CSC). The former controls and monitors all the satellites, while the latter monitors all the services transmitted over the satellites, which include analogue and digital video, business and IP services. Both centres consistently work to ensure highly reliable services.

In radio communication, used in radio and television broadcasting, cell phones, two-way radios, wireless networking, and satellite communication, among numerous other uses, radio waves are used to carry information across space from a transmitter to a receiver, by modulating the radio signal (impressing an information signal on the radio wave by varying some aspect of the wave) in the transmitter. In radar, used to locate and track objects like aircraft, ships, spacecraft and missiles, a beam of radio waves emitted by a radar transmitter reflects off the target object, and the reflected waves reveal the object's location. In radio navigation systems such as GPS and VOR, a mobile receiver accepts radio signals from navigational radio beacons whose position is known, and by precisely measuring the arrival time of the radio waves the receiver can calculate its position on Earth. In wireless radio remote control devices like drones, garage door openers, and keyless entry systems, radio signals transmitted from a controller device control the actions of a remote device.

This is radio communication between a spacecraft and an Earth-based ground station, or another spacecraft. Communication with spacecraft involves the longest transmission distances of any radio links, up to billions of kilometers for interplanetary spacecraft. In order to receive the weak signals from distant spacecraft, satellite ground stations use large parabolic "dish" antennas up to 25 metres (82 ft) in diameter and extremely sensitive receivers. High frequencies in the microwave band are used, since microwaves pass through the ionosphere without refraction, and at microwave frequencies the high-gain antennas needed to focus the radio energy into a narrow beam pointed at the receiver are small and take up a minimum of space in a satellite. Portions of the UHF, L, C, S, ku and ka band are allocated for space communication. A radio link that transmits data from the Earth's surface to a spacecraft is called an uplink, while a link that transmits data from the spacecraft to the ground is called a downlink.[111]

The Bathymetry CDI Data Discovery and Access service is managed by SeaDataNet and gives users a highly detailed insight in the availability and geographical spreading of bathymetric survey data sets that are acquired and managed by an increasing group of data providers from government, research, and industry. It also gives a unified user interface for requesting access and downloading of individual survey data sets. The CDI metadata are public domain and freely available for all users. For downloading, the majority of these survey data sets require getting permission from their owners through a shopping request.

As always a great a detailed article with relevant content. Thanks.I have (only) an Edge 520 but decided to try it out with a super small piece of map from Austria. File size 7,1 Mb.I created and downloaded the .img-file according to your description above. Then I tried to install the .img-file on my 520.As expected the disc space was not sufficient. So I decided to move the two pre-installed .img-files (total 51,5 Mb) to a temporary storage place on my desktop. In theory, this should free space up for a small 7,1 Mb file.Unfortunately this did not happen. I still miss 6,4 Mb to install the downloaded map. I cannot move the two pre-installed .img-files back to the 520 because of lack of disc space. So I basically lost the ability to use my pre-installed maps. Can you give some advise on how to restore the Edge 520 storage capability? At least so I can get the original pre-installed maps back onto my device. Thanks in advance./Morten

Sat@Once is currently a free service that distributes, by satellite and at high speed, the most popular parts of the most popular websites and newsgroups from the Internet. In less than 6 months after launch the operators SES ASTRA and the CSP research centre in Turin (Italy) clocked 13 000 registered users.

The service is based on the Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) standard which is deployed Europe-wide (and is becoming accepted as a worldwide standard) for digital television. It allows the user to receive Internet services anywhere in Europe. All that is needed is a DVB-satellite dish (normally used for receiving television broadcasts), a PC equipped with a standard DVB/IP satellite reception card and the free download of Sat@Once software (5.8 Mb).
