Fallout 4 Modding: How to Limit Your Maximum Level with Level Cap

The sheer level of customization options when it comes to this mod is pretty great, and is easily one of the more impressive parts of the overall package. It helps that the SIG MCX itself is a solid weapon, with good stopping power without being too overpowered.

Sometimes, players might find it slightly cumbersome to download mods one at a time. It just feels more convenient to download a pack of weapon mods that are fairly good, but it's hard to find one particular collection that is universally beloved.

Using a shotgun in a video game is a satisfying feeling that simply can't be beat. So, any fan of weapon mods in Fallout 4 would love the idea of downloading a custom shotgun that packs a ton of firepower.

The other is an Enforcer sidearm that can be equipped with a suppressor for silent takedowns. The mod helps add a bit more authenticity to the game by adding pre-war weapons that would normally be used by police in times of crisis.

The6thMessenger has created a ton of weapons overhaul mods, and all of these can take up valuable slots in the load order. Weapons Overhaul (AIO) blends them down into one single merged mod so gamers can free up space for other mods, without hitting the limit.

DOOMBASED has crafted a lot of extremely cool weapons that can be added to the Fallout 4 world, and with that goodness comes the Doombased Weapons Merged Pack, distilling them all down to a single plugin to save space on one's load order.

Stalker is one such game. That FPS survival horror title cultivated a reputation for its unique aesthetic and hardcore experience, and the Lost World mod does its best to create a similar experience within Fallout 4. The mod retools much of the core experience, not only changing the way the game looks but also shaping it into a much more pointed survival experience. Lost World succeeds on virtually every level.

Other changes include the general health pool of enemies, as well as the importance of gear. Gear is actually now more important than health since leveling up won't scale the player's health pool. Helmets will now actually prevent headshots, both on the enemy and the Sole Survivor.

The Start Me Up mod is fantastic for players who want a much more challenging start. Sanctuary Hills is pretty easy and full of useful loot, so spawning in a location further down south with nothing but a shirt on the Sole Survivor's back is the ultimate challenge. Even better, the mod adjusts the game's dialogue accordingly.

The Loot Overhaul mod and its 2017 patch are a necessity for Fallout 4's modded survival mode. The patch is a must-download since it'll also cover all of Fallout 4's DLCs. Finding useful junk items will no longer be an easy task with this mod.

Realistic Survival Damage balances this out by ensuring enemies aren't just bullet sponges. It doesn't make the game easier but rather ensures the player won't be mowing down the same gang of ghouls for five minutes straight. In terms of combat mods, this one is a must-have Fallout 4 survival mod.

Players have a much greater range of features and sliders to choose from, making it easy to customize a character right down to the cheekbones, eyelids and jowls. It's an excellent overhaul mod that starts players out on the right foot, by giving them all the tools they need to represent themselves in the Commonwealth.

DEF_UI can even be customized to allow players to place individual HUD objects, wherever they'd like, on-screen, and then lock them in place. This allows for greater flexibility for those who like to custom-tailor every single facet of the Fallout 4 experience, right down to the messaging system.

Most players feel that Fallout 4's default inventory system is a mess, and that's putting it lightly. It's difficult to figure out what item falls under what category, which is why "Better Item Sorting" is such a lifesaver. It overhauls the game's inventory sorting system to better break down each item into its respective category.

Q.M.W. does exactly that. It overhauls the user interface by introducing a Crysis-like module that allows players to swap out weapon mods from anywhere. The mod does not affect vanilla game weapons, which means players will have to download a few weapons packs (or replacers) to take advantage of it, but it significantly changes how combat is done on the road.

Wheel menu interfaces are more common on console video game ports due to the lack of a keyboard, but some PC players swear by them as well. This option adds a wheel menu system into the game, which is handy for those who like to slow down the action a bit while deciding which weapon or item to swap.

This eliminates one of the worst aspects of the game -- using the Pip-Boy interface to swap weapons and items. Yes, the hotkey system is an option, but the wheel menu interface adds a whole new level of user interface interaction. It also works well with a number of Fallout 4's best immersion mods to keep the focus on the game world, rather than the menus.

Some players like to save time by cutting down on the monotony, and QuickTrade was designed to help with that. It allows players to instantly enter the trade menu with individual settlers, rather than going through the tedium of talking to them, before finally getting the option to barter.

If there's only one mod you download from this list, make sure it's the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch. This incredible mod fixes hundreds of bugs that are present in the latest version of Fallout 4, including issues related to NPCs, quests, graphics, in-game scripts, AI pathfinding, and everything between. Whether you want to play vanilla Fallout 4 without tons of bugs or you want to heavily mod your game and you need it to be as stable as possible, this mod is a must-have.

Take Cover lets you, well, take cover. You can crouch down and hug solid objects like NPCs do in firefights, and you can also vault over them if they're low enough if you want to try and take foes by surprise.

In this document we will go over what plugins and mods are, and why load orders and install orders are important. We will also take a look at how to resolve conflicts on the mod level, and at how Vortex automatic sorting will help you establish a stable load order for your plugins.

Click on the red lightning bolt in the row for Hunterborn SkyTEST (.esp) Patch v1.5 to bring up the dialogue that will allow you to set a rule. From the drop-down on the left, select the rule that says "Load after" and confirm your choice by clicking "Save" in the bottom right corner. This will set the Hunterborn SkyTEST patch to load after Hunterborn.

Enable SkyTEST-RealisticAnimals&Predators.esp, then Hunterborn.esp, and then Hunterborn-Skytest Patch.esp by clicking the grey "Disabled" button, or by clicking the arrow and selecting "Enabled" from the drop-down.

Another pack is The Skillzerk Weapons Pack which adds over 100 new weapons to the game, both guns and melee types. They will show up on vendors, loot lists and all NPCs in general (by being added to levelled lists). The developer states that some of the weapons includes new throwing weapons, melee weapons and none lethal weapons. Whilst there are upgrades/modifications available. No DLC is required to use this mod.

This mod adds the SCAR-H to Fallout 4, specifically inside the Museum of Freedom where you will first meet Preston Garvey. The weapon has a lot of customization available, with different sights, receivers, ammunition types, finishes, magazines, grips, muzzles and much more. It also has custom animations for the barrel grip and angled fore grip. The developer states that the weapon is suitable to be used at any level.

Another Fallout weapon mod ported from PC to the Xbox One is the Desert Eagle. It features custom sounds, textures and attachments including flashlights, sights and more. Whilst using .44MM ammunition by default, you can also switch between .38 and .50 calibers. It will be added to level lists, meaning it will show up on both enemies killed and vendors. Or you can head to the wreck of the FMS Northern Star, where it spawns naturally and can be picked up.

There is already some impressive weather in Fallout 4, but why not make downpours even more epic with the devastating weather effects that come as part of the True Storms mod? The Skyrim variant was brilliant, and with the addition of radiation rain and heavy dust storms, it is sure to add some extra atmosphere to the game.

This Fallout 4 mod tweaks the map to make it a little more usable, such as adding numbered grid lines, brightness levels, and distinct waterlines. It also makes roads visible (you are shocked, we know) so you can work out where is easier to traverse.

Be aware this might cause some odd behavior for a bit. Some quests may have been activated when your level skyrocketed and you may still encounter their triggering events in the world after you lower your level. It will also not update the required exp to reach the next level until you level up. I.e., if you jumped to level 10 and then reset back to 1, you would need to acquire enough exp to go from 10 to 11 before you level rather than the amount to go from 1 to 2. After leveling it should return to normal.

AdvSkill Advance the specified skill. AdvSkill registers the increase and will count towards your next levelup. The number represents the experience level to add to the skill (e.g., player.advskill destruction 1 will only add 1 experience towards the next skill increase, it will not advance Destruction 1 skill level). Some skills require far more experience points than other skills, crafting skills level quickly with few points, but armor skills require much higher numbers.

[Before the 1.9 patch], the following command would set the exact experience you would have in your Smithing skill to 0, also making the Smithing level 0: player.setav SmithingSkillAdvance 0 The following command would set the exact experience you would have in your Smithing skill to 3746, also making the Smithing level 12: player.setav SmithingSkillAdvance 3746 2ff7e9595c
